LOBO Cider's story is one of humble beginnings and bold exploration, rooted in the rich apple-growing history of the Adelaide Hills, just 20km from Adelaide. Since 2007, we've embarked on a journey sparked by experimentation, crafting cider from leftover apples at Michael's orchard, which soon evolved into a quest for the perfect blend, settling on the naturally balanced flavour of mostly Pink Lady apples.
Inspired by South Australia's tradition of bottle-fermented beer and driven by a passion for authentic taste experiences, we embraced the ethos that cloudy cider holds a superior flavour to filtered. As our cider found enthusiastic appreciation and grew in popularity, we expanded our orchard to include cider apple varieties, grafting trees with names like Yarlington Mill and Kingston Black, sourced from Europe for their rich tannins and complex flavours, enriching our range with the depth and character of traditional cider-making.
With each bottle of LOBO, we aim not only to delight the palate but also to honour our heritage and inspire a community of cider enthusiasts, ushering in a new era of appreciation for the craft and tradition of cider-making.
