LOBO Apfel was our first foray into apple spirit.

Starting with some of our LOBO cider, we run it through our still, in what is called a “stripping run”, then a second distillation or “spirit run” is done with extra attention to the distillation cuts, aiming to capture the character and appleness, that makes a good traditional schnapps.

Please note that this is a dry style schnapps - in the traditional Eastern European style. Not a sweet flavoured liqueur style schnapps - but maybe we’ll make some of those in the future.

Some apple notes and a soft palate.

Traditionally Schnapps is often drunk as a shot, but it also makes a good aperatif, or goes very well with a coffee after a meal. The options in cocktails are limitless! Try it well chilled - straight out of the freezer.
